Recreation Plans

Recreation plans provide a five-year framework to municipalities for decisions regarding the establishment, development, and maintenance of recreational programs and facilities. These plans include an assessment of current facilities, input from the public, and an action plan with goals and objectives including time frames and cost estimates for prioritized projects. In addition to being a guide for community recreation, a recreation plan is required by the Michigan Department of Resources for a local government to be eligible for many DNR grant programs.

WUPPDR is the meeting location and current record-holder for the Houghton County Recreation Authority and is represented on its Board of Directors. Houghton County Recreation Authority meeting agendas and minutes are accessible.
